Chianti
Chianti, nicknamed “Chiantishire” due to the large number of foreign tourists, especially English ones, who have decided to make their home here, is one of the most loved and visited areas of Italy and it is easy to explain why! Nature, art, cuisine and fine wines are the protagonists of this land!
Located in the centre of Tuscany, between the provinces of Florence, Siena and Arezzo, Chianti is an excellent starting point for visiting the main cities of this fascinating area of Italy.
There are many reasons to organize a holiday in a Farmhouse in Chianti. First of all, the famous red wine that bears its name and then the magnificent landscapes, a series of gentle hills covered with vineyards and olive groves, stone farmhouses and splendid villas, ancient churches and charming medieval villages. Among these are Gaiole, Radda and Castellina, the municipalities that historically constituted the original nucleus of Chianti, to which were later added the Sienese municipalities of Castelnuovo Berardenga and Poggibonsi, the Florentine municipalities of San Casciano Val di Pesa, Tavernelle Val di Pesa, Greve in Chianti and part of the municipality of Barberino Val d'Elsa which today represent the production area of “Chianti Classico”.
Chianti is a territory to visit especially through food and wine itineraries, indulging in wine tours and visits to farms, to discover the wines that take on different nuances from area to area and the typical products.
