“Glamping experience”

Un lieu très beau, avec des vues magnifiques. Le couché de soleil a couper le souffle. Une expérience glamping au top avec des équipements de qualité. Des propriétaires disponibles et avec une super énergie. La piscine grande, bien équipée et avec un beau panorama.

Parfois un peu éloigné mais cela fait aussi partie du charme. Le restaurant était fermé lors de notre venue, la personne chargée de la cuisine était blessée.

“We loved it. Beautiful surroundings, charming hosts, friendly and welcoming people, interesting area with lovely places to visit. Nothing was too much trouble. Despite being in the country, it was easy to find with the directions given.”

The owners were so kind and hospitable. They work hard o make sure their guests are enjoying themselves. Plenty of advice and help in choosing where to go, how to get there and to enjoy a relaxing time. Even a pasta demonstration followed by a delicious dinner. Breakfast was plentiful and nutritious. The swimming pool was convenient and the pool area had plenty of space and chairs. Our room was air conditioned and comfortable. The wine and olive oil made on the farm were excellent and well worth taking a supply away when we left.

Wi-Fi was poor. The only place where it was reliable was in the office. SATNAV was difficult

“Fantastic”

Luccia is very kind. The breakfast was good. Everything in the tent was need. We enjoyed everything!

“Amazing Tuscany Accommodation Experience”

We throughly enjoyed our stay. A great breakfast was included each day and if we couldn't attend, Lucia, the owner, prepared a takeaway. We also enjoyed a great Tuesday evening dinner with most of the other guests. It was excellent. The grounds and pool were great and we enjoyed the Tuscany views and sunsets everyday. The owner, Lucia, was a gracious host. She was involved in all aspects of our stay and even helped us work on our Italian. Great value.

- Lucia is the heart and soul of the place. Very accommodating and always cheerful, she makes you feel at home right away. She also offers valuable tips for exploring Tuscany. - Large pool with a good water temperature and plenty of loungers. - Well-maintained property. - The agriturismo is situated on a hill with a beautiful view. “Wonderful stay - we loved it”

The agriturismo is out of the way, but that's really nice because it blends in with nature. Everything is very well maintained and green. The view is fantastic. The rooms are well equipped and decorated in a typical Tuscan style. The pool is a dream. Lucia, Oliva and Daniele were great and we will definitely come back!

We have nothing to complain about. Only the WiFi could be improved, but you're on vacation and there are more important things to do :)

“Memorable, wonderful stay”

I cannot say enough positive things about this property. My husband, son, and I stayed here for 7 nights (our entire stay in Italy) in early June, 2024. Luccia is the most amazing owner/manager/hostess, The setting is beautiful, and the room we had was more than spacious enough for the 3of us, including a full refrigerator with top freezer, stove, sink, dining table, cooking utensils, dishes/silverware, as well as a small outdoor table to enjoy meals with a view. Luccia is so kind that she and our 3 year old son bonded almost instantaneously via my son's obsession with her adorable puppy Oliva- my son still remembers some of the Italian commands he learned while following Luccia and Oliva around! Breakfast selections were delicious, and the dinner we had on site was one of our best meals in Italy. Luccia also made several dinner reservations for us that were uniquely delicious. The location is ideal for day trips into Volterra. The agriturismo is small enough that we also became friendly with the other guests during our stay. We all loved our week, but I am especially grateful for how my son reflects on this trip, constantly asking to go back to Italy for our next vacation.

WiFi does not work in the rooms and is spotty at the main building. We had enough connectivity to accomplish what we needed to do, but do not expect to browse websites, stream videos, or do any meaningful work on-line... but honestly, why would you want to be on the internet if you are staying in such a beautiful place?

“We had an amazing stay!”

We had a great stay! It was the most beautiful property and surrounding area. Lucia, the owner, was one of the kindest people we have ever met. She is so welcoming and friendly. You can choose to relax at the property or explore around the surrounding towns. Breakfast and dinner at Lucia’s was divine! Thank you for the stay!

The only negative was that the wifi did not reach our room; but really, it was good to have a break from the internet anyways :)

“Highly recommended , absolutely beautiful!”

Wonderful, friendly, helpful hosts. Extraordinarily beautiful setting. Many perfect spots on the property to sit peacefully outside and just enjoy the view. Very comfortable and well-kept pool furniture to relax on. Stunning walks are possible leaving directly from the hotel gate. Comfortable apartment. Good breakfast and, when available, delicious dinner. We would definitely come back again!

Nothing negative, but maybe worth mentioning: For us, it would have been even better if dinner had been available more frequently. Ideal for families or people (like us) who like young children. (Most other guests had small children, so of course, one hears them playing …:-) )

“Perfect holiday thanks to the wonderful hosts.”

Beautiful farm where you feel immediately at peace. The panoramic views are spectacular over Tuscany. Great location for exploring Tuscany by car, we visited Volterra, Siena, San Gimignano, Peccioli, Montefoscoli and Lajatico. Lucia is the sweetest and most caring host, always attentive to our needs but not pushy in any way. When we wanted recommendations for anything, she gave it, booked reservations for us and it was always perfect. Lucia arranged a dinner at the farm with the other guests, and it was an amazing experience. The food was one of the best we’ve tasted in Italy, and we got to taste the farms wine and olive oil which was just amazing. The room was beautiful and charming, and very clean.

Super accueil de Lucia, avec son sourire et son enthousiasme. Très bel environnement au milieu de la campagne Toscane, champs d'oliviers, collines environnantes. Agriturismo de taille appropriée ( environ 10 appartements ou tentes lodges) permettant d'être au calme. Bien situé pour visiter Lucca, volterra, pise, san gimignano. Délicieuse huile olive produite sur le site. Piscine et jeux pour les enfants bien appréciés

La connexion wifi était moyenne: bonne en extérieur, moins bonne en intérieur. D'un côté, cela permet de déconnecter davantage.

We had an amazing glamping experience. It was our second time in this property, but the first one in the tent. We strongly recommend this place to families (but not only). Kids enjoyed swimming pool and very tasty breakfasts. We were amazed by two dinners we attended - truly Tuscan experience! In addition, we took part in a cooking class facilitated by Francesca - she is a star! In addition, the place is perfectly located - in the middle between Pisa, San Gimignano and Siena. Lucia, the host, was pretty awesome. She took really good care of us, was always accessible via her phone for our questions and made our stay feel like staying at a friends house. The clamping tend was big, very clean, and could host our family easily. Every morning we received a full breakfast that we could have on the Terrasse of our tend with a great view of Tuscany. The nearby pool was well maintained, clean and big enough to have some fun with the kids there. Twice a week a dinner is offered, where you eat outside with the other guests. We loved this as we could have real Tuscany food and get in touch with the other guests.

The wifi is not that strong.

“Wow! A fabulous experience of Tuscany!”

The facility is better than described...the views, the manicured grounds, and the accommodations were great. But, best of all by far was our hosts. Lucia was a delightful presence, welcoming host, and guide to Tuscany's offerings. Every day started with a lovely buffet breakfast with the other guests and Lucia as hostess.

I advise visitors to Tuscany to bring sunscreen and insect repellant. Every once in a while I heard a mosquito or was bitten by those pesky midgies that come out in the evening. And though it isn't emphasized, do spend some time in the office/shop. They have collected wonderful books, maps, pamphlets that will fill you with appreciation of the area and inspire rambling excursions.

“Fantastic location and great hosts!”

Location is beautiful and a good driving distance from Volterra and San Gimignano. The grounds are well kept, the apartment was clean and had everything we needed. The pool was lovely, with a gorgeous view from it. Breakfast was also great and the meal Lucia cooked for us was fabulous. A great place, highly recommend

Lovely pool and gardens, with beautiful views. Peaceful and relaxing place. The helpful and friendly host, Lucia was extremely welcoming and hospitable. The one-off dinner was delicious and the daily breakfast was perfect for us. Very useful to have recommendations for local restaurants and great to have the host make reservations for us. Spacious and well equipped apartment with a good sized balcony and amazing views. Very well set up for our toddler. We would definitely return!

Not an issue for us as our child was small enough to be with us at all times, but a fence between the pool and children's play area would be helpful to ensure slightly older children could play safely.

Many thanks to Lucia and Danilele for sharing their home with us! “Made to feel extremely welcome in a wonderful place”

Beautiful apartments (we stayed in the Granary) on a tranquil site with epic views and plenty to explore nearby. Lucia is the most wonderful host and was very accommodating, particularly with our 9 month old son. She has an obvious love for the local area and great with her restaurant recommendations, local knowledge and connections. Breakfast was a delight with a daily homemade cake. Thank you - we'd be back in a heartbeat.

The location is fantastic, Toscany at its best. Apartement was very cozy, clean and well equipped. Pool area is also very nice with a stunning view. Lucia (the host) makes you feel welcome from the very first second (even if there are moments when the kids are a bit too noisy). Very good breakfast. We will come back.

“Paradise in Tuscany.”

Meeting Lucia, the host, was one of the greatest highlights of our trip to Italy. Additionally, she was very kind and well connected with the community. She was always able to help us find a good place to eat dinner or to spend our day. The property is very beautiful and the breakfast is delicious. The rooms were clean, elegant, and charming- very comfortable. The views are picture perfect Tuscany. I hope to stay here whenever I am in Italy. The olive oil from the farm is wonderful.

Only way to reach property is by car, but the drive is well worth it! I wish the dinner by the host was offered more than once a week.

The property is a great hidden spot in the beautiful hills of Tuscany. It offers luxury, rest, beautiful scenery and Lucia, Daniele are great hosts, making every effort to make you fee welcome. Lucia arranges a nice breakfast and is willing to help out with any booking of restaurants or touristic trips in the area. Also very good position to visit Pisa, Volterra, Lucca, Florence, St. Gimigango etc. We loved it!

We went with our two little children to Lucia and their team. It was a pleasure to stay here. Everything was absolute clean in the appartment (and our expectations are high in that category). There is a big garden and also a little area for kids (swing etc.) and some toys like a shovel although they are not specialized just on family’s. The breakfast was amazing with a perfect view. Lucia and the staff were really really lovely and always there if we need help. The whole property, view and house are perfect.

“Beautiful location where you feel straight at home”

By far the best location I went to during my trip through Tuscany. The location is absolutely fantastic. The host warm, interested and helpfull. Extensive, freshly cooked/baked breakfast with daily different things added. I felt at home immediately. I stayed in one of the apartments. Bedroom & bathroom great, kitchen/living section is fine, it has its charm. But in the summer you will be outside anyway and it has 2 terraces. All in all I really wished I had stayed there my whole trip because it is central enough to take trips around the region. I will for sure go back.

Wifi was insufficient to do some work (but maybe it was telling me something...). As I was there in the fall when it was chillier and you needed to go inside in the evening, a small sofa would have been nice.

“Excellent stay. The owners were super friendly and helpful. The surroundings are excellent with a splendid sunrise and sunset.”

Lucia and Daniele were super friendly and nice and funny to us and our little son of 1 year. The view through the hills of Tuscany are beautiful. Staying at this property gives you a real Tuscan feeling. The apartments are spacious and fully equipped. It is possible to rent airco, but we did not use it. The apartments have lots of shadow and good possibilities to darken the room. It was also possible to charge our electric car, which was really nice to be able to move around Tuscany, without even have to think where to charge the car. At the pool you can sunbath or you have lots of shadow under the beautiful olive trees. We had the most wonderful time at the end of summer 2020, which was a real gift to us during this year with lots of government restrictions all over the world.

The beds were a bit too hard for our needs.

Sie hat gute Empfehlungen für Restaurants abgeben können, hat sich für die Wünsche der Gäste eingesetzt und hat dafür gesorgt, dass wir uns rundum wohlfühlen. “Se cercate la tranquillità, questo è il posto giusto!”

Il casale è meraviglioso: adagiato su un poggio, vigne e ulivi a perdita d’occhio. Il nostro appartamento, grande, curato e molto pulito, affacciato sulla piscina, che ci ha accolto e coccolato dopo le nostre gite mattutine. La posizione è fantastica per visitare San Gimignano, Volterra, Lajatico e girovagare in e-bike tra i colli. Ma niente paura, nulla è lasciato al caso: il valore aggiunto è Lucia che ci ha viziati con colazioni gustose, ha prenotato i ristorantini ogni sera per noi e ha organizzato un’escursione in e-bike molto bella. Grazie Lucia: sempre gentile ma mai invadente! E in ogni angolo di questo meraviglioso luogo abbiamo ritrovato la cura e la passione di Daniele per la sua terra. Consigliare una fuga qui è il minimo che possiamo fare, nell’attesa di ritornarci!

We stayed at this great place for 2 weeks! We opted for the glamping tent: great experience! Beautiful swimming pool, delicious breakfast every day and a super host and hostess, Lucia & Daniele! Our car broke down and Lucia helped us very well; no effort is too much for her. Siena, Lucca, Firenze, San Gimignano, Volterra, the coast ... all possible from this beautiful agriturismo in Peccioli. Nothing but praise. Don't hesitate: book and enjoy

“Holiday house in the middle of peaceful Tuscany”

We stayed for a week in October. The accommodation is located in the middle of the beautiful hills. From the place, you have a wide view, with sunset. Luccia, the women who owns the place is very kind. She knows great places to go for dinner, she explains where to find the pretty tuscan villages and she helped us arrange winetasting and truffle hunting. She always is in for a chitchat at breakfast and she makes you feel welcome and special. The breakfast is well organized with fresh made cappuccino’s. The accommodation is big enough to spend the day (also with the pool), but in the area are also enough villages to visit to go for a day trip. For a relaxing holiday with good food, I recommend everyone yo go.

We had an apartment on the ground floor, which was a bit noisy from the above neighbors. I recommend an apartment on the first floor instead.

Luccia was a breath of fresh air, so welcoming & approachable. Our stay was in Il Granio - Clean, Open & Beautiful. The Breakfast spread was over the top delicious with baked goods from Luccia & other local treats like fresh yogurt from a farm nearby. The pool was perfect, the views were phenomenal & we rested well in our rooms & on the patio.

Luccia is very helpful in planning your day trips from Antica Fornace. She is full of advice & expertise. She was even kind enough to offer to contact our car rental agency for us since we didn't speak good Italian. There is a great list provided for nearby stores, restaurants & other amenities. Don't forget to purchase some of Antica Fornace's Olive Oil.

The second floor apartment was big, spacious, well equipped, very clean and had the most wonderful view. The place is very peaceful and quiet and it's beautiful everywhere you look. Especially sunsets were breath taking. The host Lucia was extremely helpful and took care of her guests during the whole time. As well as apartments the garden and pool are kept really clean. Little playground for children was nice surprise. The place met all our expectations and more and we will definitely go back.

We were travelling with relatives and friends and saw all the available accommodation. All were to a very high standard. The pool area is lovely with comfortable seating and great views. Breakfast was good with home baking.

A minor point but it would be nice to have general daily cleaning included in the price. Accommodation was spotless on arrival though.

Lucia is a great source of information and advice and will book restaurants and tickets for her guests. Volterra was lovely and not too busy when we visited in May. It takes a while to get anywhere as these are country roads and not fast routes!

We had a lovely ground floor apartment with good size kitchen/diner, double bedroom, bathroom and lovely outside terrace with seating area. Quiet surroundings. The pool area was excellent. Owner Lucia was excellent and always very helpful.

Nothing really negative. Could have done with a kettle in the kitchen and some cleaning cloths which we had to purchase locally. Be prepared for quite a drive to the nearest supermarket. Also most restaurants are a good 20 minutes + drive away.

Excellent accueil ! Nous avons été gâté par les propriétaires qui étaient là à nos petits soins ! Gâteau et pains frais préparés le matin. L’acces est facile au départ de Pise. Calme et verdure assurés! Nous enfants ont surtout profité du bois juste à côté de la propriété. Un appartement indépendant avec petit déjeuner servi nous correspond parfaitement lors qu’on voyage avec des enfants (3 & 6 ans). Nous avons pu admirer des lapins et chevreuils en pleine nature :)

Amazing location not in any typical guide books. The small towns and countryside around the agriturismo are stellar. In addition, the buildings and grounds of Antica Forance are beautifully sited, designed, and maintained.

Alles war absolut positiv! Lucia, die Inhaberin ist sehr feundlich und sehr hilfsbereit. Sie hat uns viele Tipps für unsere Tagesausflüge gegeben und Restaurants oder Museen reserviert. Sie hat sich um alle unsere Anliegen und Wünsche schnell und kompetent gekümmert. Ihre nette und authentische Art machte unseren Aufenthalt sehr angenehm. Die gepflegte Anlage hat eine traumhafte Lage, etwas abgelegen daher sehr ruhig, mit toller Sicht über die Toskana. Entspannung pur! Die Poolanlage ist sehr sauber und gepflegt und wir haben die Erfrischung sehr genossen. Angenehm ist auch der tägliche kleine Frühstücksservice und wir kamen in den Genuss an einem Samstag ein tolles toskanisches Abendessen von Lucias Familie serviert zu bekommen. Einfach köstlich! Danke schön! Wir (3 Pers mit Kind 8 J.) hatten traumhafte zwei Wochen Aufenthalt Ende August und der Abschied viel uns schwer.

The owners are fantastic people with a very warm and kind heart. Personally I would love to return.

None. Even being without internet connection for 1 day didn't really bother. The house and environment are so charming that it even felt as a delight.

Enjoy the Italian food and wine, listen to the advices of Lucia and visit the nearby cultural highlights (Volterra, Pisa etc). There is plenty of choice. And keep some sightseeings in reserve for the year(s) after when you come back.

“A warm welcome in beautiful surroundings”

Claudia made our stay special by looking after us so well and giving us addresses of restaurants she recommended in the surrounding villages. The Saturday night meal her mother-in-law cooked for residents was simple, Tuscan, farmhouse food at its best, with their own ingredients and wine. A beautiful cake was cooked each day for residents to take a slice at breakfast - it was all perfect.

My (adult) children found the internet connection rather intermittent, but I was glad of the break from constant internet access!

Ask Claudia for her recommendations for local visits and farther afield too. For example, she advised us not to try to visit coastal towns over the weekend, as many tourists as well as local families would be travelling to the coast and the traffic there would be bad. So we visited lovely little hill towns, and restaurants, in the vicinity and a visit to Andrea Bocelli's Theatre of Silence, at Lajatico, (so called as he gives one concert there in July and otherwise it is silent in magnificent scenery all year round) is well worth the trip.

“Fantastic Place!”

We loved the scenery and the accomodations. Lucia was such an enthusiastic and accommodating hostess... she helped us arrange a wonderful Tuscan cooking class and made suggestions for all sorts of activities. The pool was clean and very refreshing after a long day visiting towns nearby or hiking. Antica Fornace is a few miles from the nearest town, so driving at night might be difficult for some. We had a dinner of bread, wine, fruit and cheese several evenings in our fully stocked kitchen, and ate out a larger meal during the day while sightseeing. Our two bedroom, two bath apartment was perfect for two couples traveling together. Lovely views from all windows!

Tuscan Cooking Class - great fun and great food Local hikes - through Cedri and to Peccioli Volterra, Lajatica, Peccioli, Lucca - all towns we visited near by.

“360 views - you could see forever!”

Lucia our hostess was friendly, very helpful and had a great personality! The breakfasts were nice and we loved the location, a little remote with towns 7k away. The pool was lovely, comfortable beds - nice outdoor seating options to enjoy your views/sunsets with a glass of wine.

None really - would have liked a bit of meat with breakfast or eggs!

Go to a cooking class! Visit a local winery for wine tasting. Visit Volterra, have dinner in Peccioli - Lucia has great recommendations and is very helpful lining things up!

“Great hostess”

Lucia was very flexible. She kept in touch with me in the run up to the holiday and allowed us to arrive late. She was very helpful with booking activities and suggestions for places to visit. She had limitless enthusiasm and took great pride in the property. The kitchen was stocked with the essentials. A daily continental breakfast was provided.

The windows leaked when there was a strong westerly wind but Lucia came into the apartment to clear up the water. There was a day bed but there were no arm chairs to relax in. There was only one key to the apartment and the door locked automatically as you left.

The local 'town' consisted of half a dozen houses and no facilities. Any shops and restaurants were a short drive away but worth the drive. The walking routes were not well marked and the maps were difficult to follow. The GPS on my phone did work though, getting us safely back home. The pool was fresh and well maintained. Towels were provided. A really beautiful setting and a lovely place to relax and enjoy the olive groves.

The agriturismo is well equipped, very well kept and situated in a beautiful location. Many thanks to the owners, Lucia and Daniele, for their kindness, hospitality and enthusiasm. We are definitely coming back one day!

Perhaps an extra wine glass or two would have been nice. And maybe a microwave oven? The internet connection, unfortunately, was not very good. Especially in the evening it was terribly slow.

Lucia is a great source of advice on what to do and see in the surroundings. Also, the Saturday night dinner is lovely. And so is the freshly baked cake that is served at breakfast.

We had a great time with our host Lucia! She is always available to give adbices and make reservation. She has this way of making you really feel like being at home. The place is absolutely magnificient, on top of Tuscany's valley. Breakfasts were made with local products and love.

“Everything we had hoped for ... and even more!”

Antica Fornace is situated in one of the most beautiful places that we have ever stayed in in Italy. Situated amidst the olive trees, on a nature reserve, Antica Fornace offered a magnificent view of Tuscany and the grounds themselves were beautiful. On our walks and drives, we encountered several varieties of wildlife including pheasants and even a wild boar sniffing out his dinner along one of the paths. Our apartment was built and decorated in true Tuscan style, yet had all the modern amenities to make life comfortable. Large balconies offered a great place to sit and enjoy the view and the peace and quite of the location. Centrally located, we were able to enjoy day trips to Pisa and Luca, Sienna and even Cinque Terre. But the best feature of the agriturismo was our hostess Lucia - friendly, full of energy with knowledge of the local offerings and personal stories which were most entertaining. What she didn't know, she was most willing to research and always came back with an answer. Thank you Antica Fornace and Lucia for a wonderful stay and we hope that our paths may cross again one day!

The farmhouse is located in a very exclusive and private setting and the first time you try to reach your destination it may be a little confusing. Be prepared with a GPS and a good map for back-up.

The views of the countryside were beautiful, the rooms lovely and clean, and Lucia was an amazing hostess...always cheerful and willing to assist. Lucia is a wonderful hostess. Her breakfasts are delicious. Not the typical American breakfast, but this is a great Italian breakfast with homemade sweets, pancakes, cereal and more. Lucia also helped us arrange for a truffle hunting tour (highly recommended). We had a really great time at Antica Fornace and would recommend staying with Lucia. Lucia also provided us with many meal recommendations, which were by far some of the greatest meals we had in Italy. Thanks Lucia, we hope to see you again.

The wifi (internet) connection is very weak.

Ask Lucia about the wine tours, truffle hunting tours, and restaurant recommendations. In fact, Lucia can recommend places for you to see and how much time you'll need to spend in each town. Lucia is friendly, warm and humorous. I would not hesitate to recommend getting in touch with Lucia to plan out your trip. There is a great restaurant in Peccioli that you should ask Lucia to book you a reservation. Lastly, Lucca was also one of our favourite towns visited.

Cet endroit est très agréable si vous recherchez le calme et la sérénité. Il n'y a que 5 ou 6 appartements donc c'est très paisible. Les appartements sont spacieux, bien décorés et très propres. Lucia est une hôte dynamique et soucieuse du bien être de ses hôtes. Elle s'assure chaque matin pendant le petit déjeuner que tout le monde va bien et se plie en 4 pour nous satisfaire: réservation de restaurants, conseils sur les visites... La piscine est grande et propre, il y a une très jolie vue sur les collines. Un très bel endroit !

Un tout petit peu loin des commerces, mais c'était au contraire ce côté "perdu" que nous recherchions.

N'hésitez pas à choisir Antica Fornace, vous y passerez à coup sur un bon séjour.

“Excellent hosts, amazing views, and extreme comfort”

Not only did the description in the website fit perfectly with what we found (although horse back riding is offered but in another agriturismo, not on site), but the host, Lucia was just amazing. She offered home made breakfast with breads from local bakeries, jams, and sweet breads - among other things. She was also absolutely helpful in giving us advice on tours and activities to do in the area - adjusting them to our family interests and needs. I would strongly recommend anyone coming to this place to follow her advice on local visits, including her suggestions on when and how to get to Florence, Sienna, San Gimignano or Volterra, to name a few.

Wi-fii connection could be better, that would be my only comment.

Before planning an activity or site-seeing, check in with Lucia. Her advise are spot on and will make your experience more rewarding.

Lucia connaît très bien sa région et vous conseille et vous donnera d'excellentes adresses, restos, visites ou autres. Elle prépare également pour le soir des plateaux repas avec des produits régionaux excellents si vous n'avez pas envie de repartir manger à l'extérieur.

Visto che il tuo soggiorno è stato breve e non con un tempo ideale :-) , noi ti aspettiamo per un'altra vacanza immersa nel verde e perfetta per far vivere ai bambini un'esperienza unica con la natura. Ci troviamo in una riserva faunistica di 39 ettari, gli animali come i fagiani, le lepri, gli scogliattoli, i caprioli sono liberi in natura e sono facili da vedere durante le passeggiate nel bosco, tra i filari e tra gli olivi. Anche qui i bambini hanno un diretto contatto con i prodotti che la natura ci offre. Oltre a ciò, dall'agriturismo è facile raggiungere i più bei Borghi tipici della Toscana, come Volterra e San Gimignano. Siete sempre i benvenuti... Grazie è stato un piacere conoscervi :-) A presto! “Super tolles Anwesen in der Toskana mit der weltbesten Gastgeberin ”

Lucia war eine wirklich tolle Gastgeberin, die uns jederzeit gern geholfen hat. Sei es bei der Fahrplanauskunft für die Züge oder Empfehlungen für Tagesausflüge in der Umgebung. Alle Fotos und Beschreibungen stimmten mit der tatsächlichen Ferienwohung und dem Anwesen überein. Die Wohnung war sehr sauber und zweckmäßig eingerichtet. Der Pool und das unglaubliche Panorama luden oft zum Entspannen in der Sonne ein. Lucia hat jeden Morgen einen kleines liebevolles, aber völlig ausreichendes Frühstück zubreitet mit weltklasse italienischem Kaffee. Sehr zu empfehlen ist das selbsthergestellte und schmackhafte Olivenöl, welches Lucia zum Kosten bereitstellt. Am liebsten wären wir noch ein paar Tage dageblieben!!

Das Anwesen ist wirklich nur mit Auto zu erreichen und der nächste Supermarkt ist ca. 15-20 Minuten mit dem Auto entfernt. Das Internet war leider nur im Frühstücksraum nutzbar, was aber völlig ausreichend war.

Lucia was a fantastic host. Before we even arrived, we e-mailed to let her know that we were driving from Rome after arriving by plane, and that we would do out best to make it to the property by 7:00. She quickly e-mailed back to tell us to relax and take it easy on our drive and stop for food; she lived on site and did not care if we arrived later than 7. This was precisely the attitude throughout our trip, too. Lucia stopped by shortly after we arrived with bread and oil and wine (both made right there on site). This was fantastic. Breakfast each morning was great, and Lucia made sure to ask about our day and offer excellent advice about how to spend our time in Tuscany. She provided great recommendations. The facilities were nice and clean and peaceful. The views were fantastic. This was a fantastic start to our honeymoon.

We signed up for a cooking class with a company affiliated with the hotel. It was fantastic - highly recommended.

“A lovely week in Tuscany”

This agriturismo is a perfect spot for everything from a romantic getaway to a family vacation- the owner, Lucia is fabulous did everything to make our stay wonderful- she was incredibly accomodating and friendly, going out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed and more. The apartment was spacious, clean and comfortable and the view was breathtaking.

If you, like us, have spent hours, weeks and even months searching for the perfect agriturismo for your Tuscan holiday, you don't need to search anymore- Antica Fornace has it all- a beautiful pool atop of the rolling Tuscan hills, surrounded by olive trees and vineyards, and Lucia, the owner, speaks great English, is very friendly and accomodating, and will go out of her way to make your stay unforgettable. Lucia gave us great advice about day trips and nearby restaurants and made us feel very at home. As long as you have a navigator in your car and give yourself plenty of time to enjoy the scenery during your daily drives, you will have an amazing time. We will definitely be back!

“Excellent location for exploring the beauty of Tuscany. ”

Very comfortable rooms, satisfying breakfast served daily, the view is incredible, and you are within a 1 hour drive or less to Lucca, Pisa, Siena, or Empoli to take the train to Florence.

You will have to bring your own amenities such as shampoo and bath soap. There was liquid soap in the kitchen for washing up. You also have to shop for anything you want to eat in the apartment, including spices and cooking oil. This is a minor detail considering that breakfast is included and we were driving around through each day, stopping for lunch on the way.

Lucia serves a dinner meal on Saturdays, so don't miss it! Ask her to make dinner reservations at Vecchia Carraia in Peccioli. They serve wonderful pizzas. Grocery shop at the Simply store in Forcoli for al fresco meals of wine, antipasti, bread, olives and such. Take a walk through the vineyards and olive trees and just enjoy your time there.

“This was the best vacation we have ever had.”

My wife and I are so completely happy that we chose Antica Fornace as our place to stay for our trip to Italy. Lucia is extremely conversant in English and is a wonderful resource for any trip to Italy. The property is maintained impeccably, sitting atop a hill in the Tuscan vineyards. The room was comfortable and more than enough for our needs. Every morning, Lucia prepared us a breakfast which was well beyond our expectation. The location of their property is very convenient to many Tuscan cities, well within an hour's drive. From the minute we checked in, we felt that this was our home. There is much history and activity in the city, though without a doubt, this peaceful and picturesque locale is where you want to stay.

Sono però molto dispiaciuta di questa tua recensione, mi sono fatta molte domande, lavoro qui con passione e dedico le mie giornate ai miei ospiti per far si che possono godere di questa meraviglioso angolo di paradiso nel bel mezzo della Toscana, in cui io ho la fortuna di vivere. ''beata solitudine'' è vero lo è... è quello che i miei ospiti cercano quando decidono di prenotare, la tranquillità, la campagna che si perde a vista d'occhio, lontano dai rumori... oggi grazie ad internet abbiamo sempre la possibilità di scegliere con criterio in posti in cui andare, senza annoiarsi. La mia accoglienza ''marziale'' è quella che più mi delude, sarà per il tempo che spendo a parlare con i miei ospiti, la cosa più importante per me, a volte trasgredendo i normali orari del Check-in e del Check-out. Ho ben accolto e trattenuto anche la famiglia che ha dovuto aspettare più del normale, la consegna dell'appartamento che è stato lasciato in ritardo. Il servizio wifi è disponibile in qualsiasi momento della giornata nella sala ristorante, per esempio molti usano il servizio durante la colazione, basta inserire un codice di accesso, visibile sulla lavagnetta appesa nella sala, ma comunque tutte le info sono anche scritte negli appartamenti e non per ultimo ci sono io, sempre disponibile per qualsiasi domanda :-) Grazie, mi auguro ci siano altre occasioni per potervi ospitare nuovamente, Un abbraccio Lucia

Good breakfast, for sure a plus in this agriturismo.

At least once you need to have dinner at Ferretti in Peccioli, don't forget to make a reservation. Food made with local products.

“More than expected”

Beautiful countryside spot just as we wanted. The owner is very helpful to help you going where you want to: no need for a tourist info because we had her. Very friendly and kind person.

We were hoping for the saturday dinner as written on the website, but they weren't because we were off season. Must update the info on the webpage. No wifi connection except in the dining room.

Don't miss the other village around and the view from the balcony! Delicious breakfast!!!!

“We had a wonderful time and Lucia did everything she could to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. Both our kids formed a real affection for her. ”

We were lucking enough to stay when the grape picking / wine making was happening. Great experience for us and the kids. The kids also loved the pool and running around the grassy lawns.

Kitchen was lacking some basic utensils and no oven. As it was out of season the canteen was not open in the evenings so we had to look after our own meals each evening.

Great for families though as is common in most of Europe, no fence around the pool. As already stated, kitchen lacked some basic features but this was easily manageable.

“Incredible 360 degree views of the Tuscan hills.”

Lucia is a delightful and very helpful host. She made sure we were comfortable, treated us to a bottle of wine, fixed a great breakfast, made dinner reservations for us a wonderful, local Tuscan restaurant, and recommended local places for us to visit. We visited 3 places based on her recommendation that were delightful, authentic and not touristy. The apartment and property had everything we needed, and the 360 degree views of Tuscany were incredible. We had beautiful sunsets and a full moon and stars. Pictures cannot do the views justice. When we learned that we were staying next at a B&B with an owner that didn't speak much English, I asked Lucia to write a note in Italian since we had a special request about our rooms (she offered to call the B&B, too). The note was a big hit, the B&B owner appreciated it. Lucia, thank you for making our Tuscan holiday so wonderful.

None! We had the most delightful, entertaining and relaxing 5 days.

In addition to doing the "must sees" of Tuscany, ask Lucia for recommendations for small hill towns that are not in the standard guide books. Eat in Peccioli with locals. Wander around the roads. Ride the funicular in Certaldo to the old castle/town, which was almost deserted the day we were there. Put your toes in the seafoam green Med sea at Castiglioncello. Cook organic pasta from narby Floridda biofarm. Take time to relax, and drink wine while watching the sunset. Note: you will not have English channels on TV, and internet is only available in the breakfast room (it works well there), but you are in Tuscany!!

L agriturismo è un posto magnifico dove regna una pace meravigliosa immersi nel verde delle colline toscane. Lucia la padrona è una persona fantastica molto disponibile e molto attenta a fornire agli ospiti indicazioni precise per ogni tipo di richiesta ed attrativa ( palio di Siena. Ristorante. Parchi zoo per bimbi.passeggiate in bici)

Se sei allergico alle vespe o tafani portati delle protezioni...essendo il posto in piena campagna è pieno... In quanto coppia con bimbi sarebbe stato bello se nella parte più vissuta dell agriturismo ci fosse stato un piccolo parcoigiochi per bimbi attrezzato. .cosa che mancava completamente. ..

Permettimi però di dire che quanto hai descritto riguardante il parco giochi, non corrisponde alla realtà. In agriturismo abbiamo uno scivolo per bambini, un tavolo da ping-pong, due altalene e giochi da tavolo o da giardino (tipo racchettine-palloni-bocce). Non capisco a cosa ti riferisci quando dici che mancava completamente..comunque và bene. Evidentemente mancava qualcosa,ma non tutto:-) Per quanto riguardava vespe e tafani, purtroppo è stata un annata molto particolare. Non piove da mesi e per allontanarli del tutto, saremmo costretti a fare dei trattamenti che però non sono indicati per la salute generale..quindi evitiamo. Ciao e spero di potervi ospitare nuovamente. Lucia

“Peaceful experience of a lifetime”

The most beautiful setting I have ever stayed in. Apartment "girasole" is spacious and homely. Grounds and swimming pool are wonderful. Magnificant husband and wife team.

Slow internet connection for limited hours - as most places in Tuscany I imagine. Directions to Antica Fornace are poor, without GPS would have had a nightmare tryign to find my way.

Campaign to internet providers for a better connection. Suggest you actully drive to Pisa airport and when driving back to Antica Fornace actually note detailed directions. Create an informaion with extact locations of shops and restuarants along with their details for GPS.

“Wonderful experience at Antica Fornace!”

Lucia is a delightful, welcoming hostess who made us feel right at home, gave us good recommendations for the area, and provided a delicious breakfast each morning. The accommodations were very nice...good beds, clean rooms, nice kitchen. The view from each window was spectacular! We also truly enjoyed the swimming pool and the patio areas to rest, visit, play cards, drink wine!

Get good directions before attempting to drive to Antica Fornace! Don't worry if it takes you a try or two to find your way...the scenery is worth the extra effort. Be sure to try Lucia's white wine, and take her recommendations for places to eat in neighboring villages.

“Beautiful and Peaceful”

Nice owner. Absolutely gorgeous location about 15 minutes by car from nearest town.

No internet access whatsoever. The room was nice, but we couldn't open any windows because there were just window doors with no screens. Felt a little suffocating. Stated that there was a restaurant on the property, but the restaurant was not operable. Breakfast very poor - just jam with bread, a few store bought yoghurts and a sweet cake.

Overall, a beautiful property surrounded by olive trees, vineyard and lots and lots fo roses. Perfect to relax. Lucia was very nice and offered many suggestions, set up a cooking class which we loved and made the stay quite pleasant. The lack of internet for four days was very difficult. Owner has a mobile card that you can borrow, but it didn't work for me or the other party that checked in after us. You can use her computer though if necessary. You are a good 15 minute drive from the nearest restaurant so take that into account. Overall, I'd stay there again.

Vorrei inoltre chiarire e scusarmi per il servizio internet. Purtroppo non sempre è possibile avere una buona ricezione in posti così isolati, per questo sono sempre molto disponibile ad offrire il mio computer. Per quanto riguarda la colazione a noi piace offrire prodotti locali molto vari: pane ai cereali, marmellate, miele, yogurt, cereali e latte, frutta, succhi, croissant e torte o biscotti preparati ogni mattina da me, oltre alle bevande su richiesta. L'Agriturismo è diverso da un Hotel. Die Anica Fornace liegt zentral und doch außerhalb eines Ortes, dort ist die Stille "hörbar". La chambre, la salle de bains et la salle de séjour sont spacieux, fonctionnels et confortables. La cuisine est bien équipée et nous en avons profité pour préparer certains repas. Notre première expérience d’une semaine en agritourismo a été très bénéfique et concluante.

Zelo lepo..., popolno doživetje. V Antici Fornace se počutiš kot kralj, napolniš se z energijo, želiš si ostati zato veš, da se boš kmalu spet vrnil.

Priporočamo 100 %. Je vredno svoje cene. Prijaznost na vrhuncu, popoln ambient, razgled iz hribčka daleč naokoli, na njihovo posestv; nasad oljk in vonograd... Včasih zagledaš kakšnega zajca, fazana ali prepelico. Domače hišno vino - vrhunsko, oljčno olje extra deviško. Skratka nepozabno doživetje - od ve Toskane nas je Antica Fornace najbolj očarala.

Nous avons vraiment apprécié la maison, le jardin fleuri, peuplé d'oiseaux de toutes les couleurs, et la vue superbe sur les vignes et les oliviers de la ferme, et aussi la campagne vallonée, avec de magnifiques couchers de soleil. L'accueil réservé par Lucia, sa gentillesse, ainsi que sa disponibilité pour ses hôtes, valent vraiment le détour. Les petits déjeuners sont variés (un gateau maison différents tous les jours), la piscine très agréable après une journée passée dans les musées de Florence.

“Great stay at Antica Fornace”

Lucia was great throughout the entire stay. From booking to checkout, she was a great hostess. She even took us to an olive oil pressing factory and translated the process to us. The grounds were beautiful. Any direction you looked was picturesque. I have the photos to prove it! Peccioli, which is the closest town to the area, is fantastic. Great food and the people are nice. Having a rudimentary grasp on Italian will help a lot.

Mosquitos. We weren't prepared for these. The rooms have a mosquito net on the bed and air conditioning to combat them, but we still had a lot of bites. Next time we'll bring more repellant.

Bring the bug spray if you're not used to mosquitos. It's very important to have a car or car service lined up. Public transit won't get you to this place. If you do have a car, splurge on GPS. It's tough to find the place without at least a good map of the area. You'll also need transport to really get the most out of Tuscany. The big upside of the rental is its proximity to San Gimingano, which is a fantastic Medieval city to explore.

“Fabulous place to stay!”

This was an amazing place to stay! Everything was very clean, Lucia was very helpful and welcoming, and the best part was watching sunsets on the patio overlooking the Tuscan hills!

It was a bit difficult to find and not near any major roadways. The internet connection was virtually non-existent most of the time, but that's okay!

You'll need to rent a car, but be prepared for some adventure driving on some of the rural roads!

“Accueil chaleureux dans un cadre exceptionnel ”

Agriturismo absolument magnifique ! le coucher de soleil sur la terrasse avec un verre de vin de la propriété est vraiment inoubliable sans parler de l'accueil chaleureux de Lucia, sa gentillesse et son rire ! L'appartement était très propre, la piscine magnifique, très bien entretenue, entourée d'oliviers et de vignes avec une vue sur les collines pisanes.... Nous avons beaucoup apprécié la formule avec le petit-déjeuner compris d'autant que le buffet était très complet (chaque jour croissants, pâtisseries, fromages...)et la possibilité de diner le samedi soir (repas typiquement toscan). Nous avons passé deux semaines de rêves, extrêmement reposantes. Bref, à refaire sans aucune hésitation.

Pour nous, aucun !

Ne pas hésiter à demander à Lucia les endroits à visiter (en dehors des sites touristiques connus) ainsi que les bons restaurants du coin !

“Almost perfect.”

Beautiful picturesque location, very friendly and helpful owner, very nice apartment, wonderful swimming pool. Close to San Giminiano and Volterra.

Rather long and tiresome drive (but we were prepared). Having stayed in other agriturismos we expected somewhat more interesting breakfasts with local produce. The internet connection was iffy.

It's a wonderfull relaxing villa to stay there, but getting somewhere further away (e.g. Siena or Chianti) would take tiring (especially for small children) 1,5 hrs drive via small winding and sometimes broken roads (though it looks so close on a map). Think twice if you plan to go somewhere everyday, otherwise it's almost perfect.

The building is very attractive and immaculately maintained. The pool is fabulous and the views are fantastic. The service from Lucia is friendly and super efficient. Nothing was ever too much trouble!

The owner went out of her way to help us. She made us dinner reservations at wonderful restaurants every night as well as suggested various activities for us in the near-by towns and provided us with maps and driving directions.

Excellent accomodation, Lucia very attentive and very helpful. Beautiful setting and very relaxing. Grounds are beautiful and the pool was lovely too.

Description of nearest town did not say by car so this disappointed us. When it stated that it was near the town of cedri I didnt realise that this was just houses there. This was our honeymoon and though that I was picking somewhere we could walk to for eating this was a misunderstanding on my part also but should be phrased differently maybe.( Very nervous drivers!!)

We didnt do much driving as a very new experience for us due to driving on the other side of the road but Peccioli had lovely restaurants. Lovely family restaurant food was beautiful and wine delicious and very very reaonable, ask Lucia about this.

“The perfect getaway!”

The location was fantastic with beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. We were warmly welcomed by Lucia who runs the agritourismo with her partner Daniele. Lucia ensured that we had the perfect honeymoon and even managed to rent us a car! The breakfast and evening meal (once a week) were both excellent and the apartment was spotlessly clean and well equipped. We will be returning as it exceeded our expectations.

There weren't any!

You must hire a car to stay here as the nearest shops and restaurants are 15km. If hiring a car you must have a credit card to show when collecting (something we weren't told before hand by the rental company!). Make sure you sample the food that Lucia serves once a week which is really tasty and is all grown locally or on the farm itself. Also ensure you sample the wine and olive oil that is produced on the farm as well... fantastic!!

“we drove 2200 km from norway and it was worth every km. we were a little sceptical as to the description but it could not show the beautiful area around. lucia the host smiled from the day we arrived to the last breakfast.guess where we will be in 20”

superb accomadation, area and host.

Not one thing!

Is a tremendous base for day trips in the area to both large cities such as Firenze, Sienna and Pisa. However the small surrounding towns and villages of san Gignano and especially Volterra were wonderful surprises. roads are excellent and you cannot get lost.

Présence et disponibilité des propriétaires.J'insiste sur la disponibilité de LUCIA.Les locaux sont très bien entretenus. Propreté, confort,calme,espace Site superbe.Proximité des principales Villes Toscanes Florence/Volterra/San gimigniano/Pise/.....

Petit déjeuner un peu succinct. Pas de connexion internet Le "supplément" climatisation. Nous étions 7 et pour cuisiner c'était un peu juste en ustensiles de cuisine. CEPENDANT JE N'AI PAS DEMANDE A LUCIA QUI M'AURAIT CERTAINEMENT TOUT FOURNI.Donc faites le si vous êtes nombreux Tout ce que je cite ne remets pas en cause mes prochaines vacances à Peccioli, je l'ai d'ailleurs déjà conseillé à mes amis.

Lucia a des adresses fabuleuses, et des plans "oulet" qui valent le coup. Elle nous a même accordé tout une après midi pour un shopping "éclairé". Par ailleurs elle a tout le planning des festivités alentour et sites touristiques Vous ne serez pas décu

Very nice and helpfull owners, very clean accomodation, really nice setting!

It should have a table and chairs outside on the balconys and on the terrasse. Otherwise you have to transport the table from the inside out to dine outside.

“Great relaxation”

It is a place you never forget: can a be a relaxing holiday for a family, and an extraordinarily romantic place for a couple. Very tidy, beautiful surroundings, clean and comfortable accomodation, good place to stay to have various programs: sightseeing in Pisa (1h drive)or Volterra (beautiful town), long walks in the countryside, visiting the sea...it was a nice vacation.

You may want to check in advance the correct street name whether your gps recognizes it..

Eigentümer sind äusserst zuvorkommend. Sehr gepflegte Umgebung und Swimminpool.

Internetanschluss nur im Büro des Eigentümers. Frühstück mehrheitlich süsses Gebäck. Etwas mehr Abwechslung mit Salami, Käse, Eier, Schinken wäre wünschenswert. Grösseres Angebot von Hauptmahlzeiten wäre von Vorteil (nur 1 mal pro Woche, gegen Anmeldung).

Liebevoll ausgestattete Unterkunft, die auch sehr gepflegt ist.

Das Abendessen in der Unterkunft wurde nur 1x wöchentlich angeboten. Das Preis- Leistungsverhältnis stimmte nicht.

Radfahren in dieser Gegend ist nur für sportliche Fahrer (ohne Kinder) möglich. Zentral gelegen, um Pisa, Lucca, Siena usw. zu besichtigen. Zum Meer (Cecina) ca. 1Std Fahrt.

“Fantastic location, perfect rooms, incredible service!!! Nothing to complain about.”

Located on top of a hill, with fantastic panoramic view, surrounded by wineyards and olives. Big, nicely furnished rooms, very clean. Big and clean swimming pool. Good breakfasts. Located halfway between Pisa and Firenze.

Try their VinSanto - it's amazing. If available, book the Fornace apartment - you won't be dissapointed.

“Zeer mooie omgeving, heel mooi en rustig verblijf, goed onderhouden, vriendelijke uitbaters, prachtige lokatie.”

Zie titel, net, vriendelijke uitbater, mooie ligging, comfort, rustig, ontspannend. Centraal gelegen om van daaruit verschillende steden te bezoeken.

Auto noodzakelijk, afgelegen, naast het zwembad weinig aantrekking voor kinderen. Het valt onder agriturismo, maar het is in feite een nieuw complex die weinig met agriturisme te maken heeft. Maar a deze zaken wegen niet op tegenover de positieve aspecten.

Een goed leesboek mee nemen om bij het zwembad in alles rust te genieten en goede ogen om het mooie landschap rondom te bewonderen.
