Winery: Residence near Ancona in Marche, Morro d'Alba
Winery

Morro d’Alba lies amid the rolling hills of Le Marche, 10 km from the Adriatic Coast in the province of Ancona. It is here that Stefano Mancinelli has planted his vineyards and olive groves. His farm, of over sixty hectares, has a quarter of them devoted to growing specialist vines with which he produces his D.O.C. – guarantee of origin – wines: Lacrima di Morro d’Alba D.O.C. and Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi D.O.C. Classico – both of which are typical of the region.
On his land, 1500 trees of local varieties of olives have been planted – Frantoio, Raggiolo and Raggia. The oil extraction takes place in his mill on the same day it has been harvested. This results in a supreme extra virgin olive oil with a very low acidity level, and a fruity and aromatic flavour.
The flagship of his farm is his distillation plant – the first of its kind in the region. Freshly harvested grape pulp is made into several varieties of Grappa di Lacrima and Grappa di Verdicchio.
