Zeer gastvriendelijke hosts waarbij we met al onze vragen terecht konden. De plek is echt geweldig mooi. Net zoals op de foto’s. Het zwembad was perfect onderhouden, tafeltennistafel was erg leuk en de plekjes om te ontbijten heel idyllisch.

Bijna niets! Er was geen internet in de kamer (dat kwam door de dikke muren) maar we kwamen daar ook niet om continu te internetten. Buiten de kamer deed de WiFi het prima en dat was voor ons voldoende. Het bed was voor mij iets te hard maar dat was opgelost door op de slaapbank te gaan slapen.

“Détente au milieu de la forêt Toscane”

Appartement fonctionnel et bien équipé, les enfants ont adoré passer des heures à la piscine et au ping pong. La propriété est entourée de forêt qui permet d'avoir une bonne température en soirée avec le petit vent (août). Au petit matin de notre fenêtre nous voyions sangliers et biches dans le champ. Propriété à 1h de Sienne et 45 min de Florence. Silvia la propriétaire adore donner des bonnes adresses ou tout simplement discuter avec ses hôtes.

Gîte en pleine nature, la borne Wi-Fi était un peu faible ce qui force à la detox digitale. Beaucoup de taons dans le bois avoisinant, apparemment c'est le cas en août. Ça ne gêne pas dans la propriété mais nous voulions nous balader dans le bois, on a du y renoncer.

La vue du lieu est exceptionnelle, le site est chouette, calme, dans son « jus », authentique, on y trouve toutes les commodités, nous avons également apprécié de pouvoir faire un barbecue, il y a piscine, possibilité de jouer au ping-pong, baby-foot, pétanque, foot ...

Un seul petit point a améliorer, la connexion, mais ça se comprend , on y arrive quand même, bon en même temps on est pas venu pour ça et ça permet de décrocher

Hôtes très accueillants et disponibles, de bons conseils. Cadre exceptionnel, vue splendide, calme et en même temps idéal pour rayonner dans la Toscane. Piscine top et jeux pour enfants (ping pong, babyfoot, football). Logements grands, beaucoup de cachet, et fonctionnels

Prévoir des protections contre les moustiques (pour l'extérieur surtout), car moustiquaires ok pour l'intérieur. Conseil pour toute la Toscane

Un coin de paradis dans une grande maison ancienne, juste ne pas être surpris par la piste en caillou en arrivant, qui contribue ceci dit au charme de l'endroit. Chaque logement préserve l'intimité, les équipements sont tops et les hotes agréables et serviables. N'hésitez pas à leur demander tous les conseils pour vos visites... À recommander sans réserve...

Je dois dire une seule chose à propos du chemin de terre, qui en plus n'est pas à nous: comme nos hotes sont toujours réussis à monter sans difficultés, meme avec une porche, ceci est vraiment la prémière fois que j'entends cette expression pour le décrire. Juste pour donner une réponse détaillée à cet avis, Mr Lambert, vous étiez fâché avec moi parce-qu'un restaurant à Sienne que je vous avais conseillé, était cher. Quand vous etes revenu chez moi, je suis venue à parler pour mieux comprendre et m’excuser si mon conseille n'avait pas satisfait vos exigence (c’était la premiere fois d’un feedback comme ca, j’avais aucun idée) mais vous n'avez pas voulu m'écouter. Vous etes en effet parti en claquant la porte au nez, détruisant l’encadrement de la porte.Pour le nettoyage si j'avais su, puisque on est ici 24H, j'en aurais fait un autre extra et sans frais. On essaye toujours de faire de notre mieux, mais c'est possible que quelque chose n'est pas parfaite. Je vois que comfort, description, services et propriétaire ont été avisés tous suffisant: je suis très désolée parce-que je demande à tout le monde chaque jour ''comment ca va?'' pour être d'aide et aussi pour savoir si je dois faire quelque chose pour que le séjour soit agréable. Dans votre cas, vous m'avez rien dit, le jour du depart non plus, aucun mot! Internet: puisque on est une maison medievale les murs sont épais et comme c'est écrit, il n'y a pas beaucoup de ligne dedans, mais dans MONTE, le logement que vous aviez réservé, il y a une chambre avec connection. En général, dehors est possible de se connecter. Merci pour le cadre exceptionnel, on trouve que la piscine est beaucoup mieux que “agréable'', bien sur cela est le point de vue de qui la nettoyé et contrôle tous les jours, 4 fois par jours.Pour ce qui concerne la décoration obsolete et poussiéreuse ca m'étonne, c'est vrais que les meubles de ma famille et la recherche des détailles anciennes est particulière, mais on a fait ca pour donner à la maison medieval une chaleur et une histoire spécifique et personnel unique. En général, on peut dire que, malheureusement, il n'y a pas eu beaucoup de communication et ca m'étonne encore une fois, parce que pour nous l'accueil c'est la chose plus importante, un signe précis et la raison d'être ici tous les jours. Je trouve que si quelqu'un est un peu trop stressé, ne peut pas se laisser facilement fasciner par les pays différents et les personnes locaux.

“The owners was very gracious, fixing a snack or us when we arrived. Their wine was very good and we enjoyed meeting their young family. Very helpful with a map and recommendations for restaurants.”

The owners served coffee each morning and they told us how the Greve in Chianti 214 was resurrected from rubble by her parents.

I have no negative aspects. Very beautiful.

We enjoyed driving around Chianti. Silvia recommended a restaurant in Valpaio with amazing Ravioli with spinach and a wonderful prosecco.

“Panorama fantastique, hôtes charmants”

Le lieu est magique: isolé, calme...une vue dont on ne se lasse pas ! Un séjour ressourçant. On aurait pu rester là toute la journée avec un bon livre si notre curiosité ne nous avait pas poussé à découvrir les trésors du Chianti! Les propriétaires sont adorables, discrets et de bons conseils .

Très belle propriété, au calme, avec de grands espaces, une piscine extérieure, des aires de détente et des propriétaires vraiment très accueillants, très sympathiques et parlant français, anglais et italien !

Pas de petit-déjeuner inclus avec la chambre et les commerces ne sont pas facile d'accès. Pensez à acheter ce qu'il vous faut avant d'y aller pour éviter les allers-retours sur les chemins de forêt.

Depuis la propriété, on peut faire une petite marche pour aller faire une dégustation de vin (attention ça grimpe pour le retour ! Il faut de bonnes chaussures), sans utiliser la voiture, ce qui peut être pratique! Greve in Chianti est très jolie à visiter (centre-ville pittoresque, situé à 20 min en voiture). La vue depuis la propriété est magnifique ! Pour arriver à la propriété, l'utilisation du GPS de voiture est déconseillée (il nous a perdu à plus de 10 km alors que l'adresse entrée était la bonne). Pour nous retrouver, nous avons utilisé Google Maps, qui nous a indiqué le bon chemin.

Silvia, Luca and family welcomed us like friends and were perfect hosts. We loved the tranquil hillside surroundings, pristine swimming pool, locally produced olive oil and Chianti (available to purchase on site!) nearby village markets and comfortable, clean accommodation. It exceeded my expectations.

Purchase groceries at the Coop in Figline or Greve before heading to Greve in Chianti 214. Don't miss having a meal at the restaurant in Dudda.

Iinfrastrucutres époustouflantes et décor féerique ! Quel bel accueil, les proprios toujours prêts à nous aider. Appartement rosa largement suffisant pour 2 personnes avec table extérieure pour les repas. Le décor est magnifique, propre. Piscine impeccable ainsi que le site. Calme, dans la nature.

Aucun repas sur place et on le savait avant de partir. Ça aurait été pratique puisque les routes autour sont très sinueuses et une seule petite épicerie à environ 3-4 km qui est fermée en pm et les mercredis ! Pizzeria qui est près n est ouverte que trois jours par semaine. Il faut donc prévoir d'avance. Épicerie complète à 12 km mais prends 45 minutes à cause de la route. Enfin, c est un détail mais il faut se préparer et il ne faut pas oublier que tout est fermé entre midi et 16h30 environ.

Attention à ne pas utiliser le GPS ou Google map puisque ça nous amène au mauvais endroit et vous montez des kilomètres dans une montagne Ave. Chemin de gravier, très désagréable !!!! Le proprio essaie de régler cela avec eux pour rétablir le tout. Prévoir nourriture et temps sur la route pour se déplacer. Par contre, les déplacements sont t aussi féeriques nous sommes constamment dans les vignes et les oliviers! Si vous êtes mal pris en pm il y a un énorme camping à 5 km dont les restos et épiceries sont ouverts à tous les jours et ne ferment pas en pm, ça peut dépanner! Pour aller à Florence, faire route 12 km vers le train ffigline et ensuite environ 30-40 minutes pour se rendre à Florence.

“Very relaxing ”

The owners are very friendly, open and helpful. Very good hospitality. The surrounding is beautiful and very quiet, perfect for relaxing and get away from noisy cities.

The place can be a bit difficult to access.

A wonderful location, tranquil and beautiful. The accommodation was clean and comfortable and just as we expected. The facilities were fabulous - the pool was just wonderful. “Wonderful stay in the Chianti Countryside.”

Our apartment is spacious and has a rustic charm, it has a large kitchen with all the essential utensils you need for cooking. From any point of Greve in Chianti 214, we get a beautiful view of the valley with vineyard and forests. One has to drive for 5-10 mins on a country road to reach the farmhouse, you really feel that you are away from it all. My wife and I stayed up late at night to watch for wild animals venturing to the area and we have had close encounter with the wild deers. The place has a nice pool and a communal area so you can chat to other guests, the host are always eager to introduce you to other guests as well. So we feel like we were staying in a small village. Our host Silvia and Lucas are among the best hosts we had on our 3 weeks trip in Italy, they settled us in the vicenza very well and gave us plenty of helpful travel advice. Our 6 year old son enjoyed playing with their two elder daughters around the same age.

It is not really a negative aspect. We knew this is not a working farm before we came. However important to be aware of in case it is a deciding factor. Another factor to consider is the location, this country house is super close to Florence but when you need to visit anywhere on the west or south of the Chianti region, it adds a bit of driving.

The host has plenty of good travel advises for day trip around the area, so talk to them more.

“The property took our breath away - we all gasped as we came up the driveway. My husband and I took our 18 year old son and 23 year old daugther with us for vacation - and we each found this to be an incredible experience. We must have visited dozen”

The entire estate is beautifully manicured and maintained with love. Sylvia and Luca welcomed us with such grace and made us feel right at home here. We woke to see wild boar and deer in the fields and we slept like babies with our windows open at night. We ate outside under a rose covered canopy and lazed by their beautiful pool. If I had known just how magical the place was - I would have booked it for much longer.

There are no negative aspects.

For a wonderful dinner - go to Ristorante Oltre il giardino in Panzano. The views are magnificent. We also loved our day trips to Greve and Radda in Chianti. Luca's house wine was a real treat - so our favorite times were just being there at La Ghiandaia, cooking our own meals and eating outside, enjoying the wine and the scenery and the serenity. We all miss Sylvia and Luca and the girls and hope to someday return.

“Wonderful panorama, very comfortable house en lovely owners!!”

We had a super holiday with our four children. We loved the pool and walking around theestate. In the evening you can see a lot of wild life like dear and wild boar. Our children also immensely enjoyed playing with the daughters of the owners and between children there is never a language barrier! The owners are very welcoming and always there to offer help or advice. The other guests were also very pleasant. The house was very comfortable and cool and very spacious! And it is a great location to discover the different well known cities in Tuscany. Definitely worth going back!!

I wish the children got a memorable experience of all they saw. Actually, regarding wine to sell we had a lot in the cellar, it's not our own since we don't produce any but it's made by the nearby farmer. Regarding oil, we officially don't produce it to sell but only for our own consume and in fact 7 liters are nothing. Last and least I'd like to say that my house being a summer house does not have to produce anything officially form the ground for italian laws, while a farmhouse or agriturismo they do, it's their first income. So, maybe there was a little misunderstanding about status of farms/property, hard to understand being not italian, of course. We were very, veru satisfied with the room, our hosts and everything else.

The internet is not very good because You can connect only one device - if my wife is using her tablet, I cannot connect my laptop, or anything else iin the same time. There is no breakfast, so the guests should take care by themselves.

“Happy Under the Tuscan .. Clouds”

Deapite the foggy and rainy weather of October, our visit to this villa in Tuscany was what we dreamed about. “A place of extraordinary atmosphere in the heart of Chianti with amiabale owners”

We, a family of three, stayed at GREVE IN CHIANTI 214 for one week in July 2013. Already the welcome of Silvia and Luca was so warm and friendly. We loved our apartment Roccia just from the beginning. It has a real original flair with its ancient rooms and the old furniture. From the little terrace you have a wonderful view over nearly the whole estate, the surrounding vineyards, the forest and hills up to the Arno valley and distant mountain ranges - spectacular! The whole estate is well maintained with much enthusiasm by Silvia and Luca. Refreshing and swimming in the pool was real a great pleasure especially after returning from our day-trips to Florence and Siena. Due to the perfect location in the center of Chianti GREVE IN CHIANTI 214 enabled us to find a perfect mix of city trips and some intermediate relaxing days with swiming, reading and just enjoying the lovely scenary. Silvia and Luca both did everything to provide everyone a most enjoyable and pleasant stay as possible. In conclusion: GREVE IN CHIANTI 214 and their amiable owners is really a place of extraordinary atmosphere. Therefore it is more than worthwhile to climb the gravel road by car which looks a bit adventurous the first time but is finally no problem at all. Silvia and Luca, thanks for all your kind hospitality! It was such a great pleasure to be at your property. When we will return to Toscany next years we will definitely want stay at GREVE IN CHIANTI 214 again! Greetings from Monika, Mara and Juergen

“Gorgeous location, Helpful owners”

Beautifully restored building in an amazing hillside location. Wild boars in the front field overlooking vineyards of Chianti. Appreciated screens in windows. Luca was a bike tour guide, so had loads of information on surrounding biking and hiking trails. Beautiful landscaping reflects the pride Sylvia and Luca justifiably have in their property.

Access road a bit scary at first but you get used to it.

Make sure to pick up detailed maps that show the hiking and biking trails. The Alpine Club of Italy has Maps and guides of the extensive trail network. Evaluation table above needs a "Very Good" rating.

“Amazing views”

The views from the apartment were amazing and the accommodation was beautifully decorated. The hosts, Sylvia and Luca were friendly and helpfully, even booking our Uffizi tickets in advance for us. The village is quite close to Figline which is well located on the trainline from Florence to Arrezo (and Rome) which meant we could visit both Florenece and the jousting festival in Arrezo. There is also beautiful countryside with plenty of hiking trails and of course great food, the restaurant in Dudda served excellent food and is only a short drive away.

We don't really have anything negative to say although it would be nice perhaps to have a small sofa inside to make it more comfortable on colder days when you don't want to sit outside.

Take the first section of the road in first gear as the hosts advise and once you've driven the road once it's really not a problem! Chianti is marketed as a great cycling destination but unless you are a serious cycler it would be better to stick to walking, we couldn't even rent a bike for a 9 year old daughter as the gradients and roads are unsuitable for children that age. In Florence, don't miss a guided tour of the Palazzo Vecchio, we did the secret passages tour and it was the highlight of our daughters trip!

Accueil très chaleureux. Sylvia et Lucca sont attachants et donnent de très bon conseils. Grande maison historique décorée avec beaucoup de goût et fraiche en été. Remarquable vue sur les collines. Piscine très agréable.

Accès un peu difficile (chemin non bitumé) ... Mais c'est également ce qui fait le charme de l'endroit un peu sauvage.

Excellent rapport qualité-prix pour un endroit enchanteur au coeur du Chianti.

“nous garderons un souvenir impérissable de cet endroit paradisiaque avec une vue panoramique incroyable. Notre appartement était spacieux et aménagé avec goût.”

Avec une piscine plutôt grande et un peu à l'écart. le chemin de terre est certes ardu mais il ne fait que renforcer le côté exceptionnel de cette belle propriété à l'écart du village

La maison est assez sonore, il faut bien tomber avec les voisins, ce qui a été le cas.

pour terminer, il faut signaler l'accueil plus que sympathique et chaleureux de Silvia et de son mari Luca qui se débrouillent dans toutes les langues pour vous rendre le séjour encore plus agréable !

“greve in chianti, was stunningly beautiful place to stay and visit, like being part of a tuscan painting.”

silvia was a wonderful host and has the apartments decorated spectacularly and very authentic to their tradition, the pool and surroundings were absolutely gorgeous and lovely apertif evening.

The only negative for us personally was that we had travelled a long journey with 2 young children and our 10 month baby and were very diappointed that a complaint was made to us about the baby crying in the middle of the first night. I feel it could have been handled better and the complaint could have waited only if it continued for another night as this was extenuating circumstances and it did put a negative spin on our holiday.

Endroit formidable: vue splendide, calme, beauté du domaine. Acceuil super chaleureux par Sylviana (qui parle tès bien le français), Lucca et leurs 2 adorables petites filles. Ils fournissent plein de conseils sur les visites à faire, marchés, bons endroits où manger, ... Toujours un petit mot gentil quand ils vous croisent, soucieux que notre séjour se passe au mieux. Idéal pour les enfants qui peuvent courir partout en toute sécurité: terrain de foot, table de ping-pong, terrain de pétanque et la piscine toujours ensoleillée! Plus les extras: les biches, le renard ... qui laissent des souvenirs bien particuliers! Bref, nous sommes enchantés d'avoir trouver ce petit "coin de paradis" et on y retourne dès que possible, c'est certain!

Très honnêtement, nous n'en avons pas ... même si jamais rien n'est parfait, tout nous convenait sans problème!

N'hésitez pas à demander des conseils à Sylviana pour les balades, villages à visiter, bons endroits où manger ... Une semaine, c'est trop court!

Wonderful scenery, very good pool, calm.

Bedrooms located up narrow, spiral staircase (despite advertising ground floor apartment), old, worn out or faulty equipment, minuscule kitchen, poor and insufficient lighting, ridiculously small and outdated TV set, terrible access road.

Great location, very good pool, but almost impossible access road that makes each exit a challenge, poor, worn out equipment, minuscule kitchen makes cooking an acrobatic exercise, bedrooms and bathroom located through a narrow spiral staircase that allow you to get in your baggage through extreme effort, very poor lighting, ridiculous TV set located on ground floor.

Comment by the Owner ''Not all donuts come with a hole'': Mr Markus you maybe missed to say that from the very first moment you arrived full of complains, we did try (each day) to check that your stay was nice and up to your expectations by changing the child bed, letting you park as close as possible to the house, solved immediately an electric problem, etc. Every day we had a word for you, suggestions and tips to enjoy this territory, we opened up our house.... sorry you seem only full of bad words and memories. I remember though you left us with compliments and smiles, saying how nice this place is.... And it's true WE ARE PROUD OF IT, of course we work every day to make it better and welcoming, but surely the medieval country house in Tuscany have some ''modernity'' limits, one has to love it! Les propriétaires sont charmants et particulièrement attentifs à votre bien-être. Ils ne manquent pas d'idées, de bons plan et bonnes petites adresses pour sublimer votre séjour.

Le chemin d'accès agricole en terre battue qui serpente sur 1,5 km pour relier la route à la propriété est très abrupte, sinueux et cahotique en début de parcours. Mais la difficulté est récompensée lorsque vous avez la chance d'y rencontrer de jeunes biches...

La Toscane ne s'arrête pas aux grands sites touristiques. La propriété est entourée de magnifiques villages du Chianti où passer des moments enchanteurs sans parcourir trop de km. Les propriétaires se feront un plaisir de vous les indiquer sur une carte.

I think we got the best accommodation, a self-contained apartment with a small terrace overlooking a large field where deer and wild boar grazed at night... very satisfactory and lots of space. Looked a lot better than the other places I saw...

“Everything we hoped for in a Toscan countryside getaway”

Beautiful setting, Gracious hospitality, Comfortable, cozy apartments. We loved the place.

For better or worse, the location is off the beaten path. You need to drive on a dirt road for 1.5 km. to get there, so every time you leave it is an outing, not a casual stroll. We didn't mind but travelers need to take this into account

You must have a rental car to stay here. I would also recommend stopping at the supermarket in Figline on the way and stocking up, so you don't have to pop out just for a snack. There are several small towns around and you get to them via the beautiful winding roads. We stayed away from the big cities and roamed the countryside and small towns. Highly recommended

“A wonderful, relaxing weekend with amazing hosts!”

Silvia, Luca, and their beautiful children were the perfect hosts. They were kind, thoughtful, and a pleasure to be around. The property was clean and tranquil with stunning views and a beautiful blooming garden. They had great advice on how to explore the region and wanted to make sure you were able to take full advantage of the property and surrounding area. The rooms/mini apartments were clean, comfortable, and had everything you needed. I had such a lovely time!

“You should definitely stay here.”

Traveled to Greve in Chianti 214 in late of April of 2012. Stayed for 3 nights. The place is stunningly beautiful and the host couple showed us classic Italian hospitality. They were attentive to our every need, gave us excellent local recommendations, told us the history of the charming property, and made us feel at home. They also sold us some of their local wine “castelleccio” (a Chianti) from the neighboring vineyard in Lucalena. It was excellent. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. Great value for the money, beautiful accommodations, and breath-taking Tuscan foot-hills.

Significant and curvy drive to local towns (Filigne and Dudda were the closest). Not a huge deal. It's beautiful country, but it takes some time to get there.

Ask them for advice about local places. The husband is a former Tuscan tour-guide. He has impeccable taste and a good knowledge of local spots. Definitely consult him about decisions.

“A beautiful Tuscan escape”

“Fabulous time”

The owners were very, very helpful, friendly and made our time here very special. The villa was well equipped for our family of 6 people. The children were able to play table tennis, soccer, bocchi , swim in the pool and go on long walks safely around the villa. It was very well situated for traveling to Pisa, Florence and Siena as well as seeing the local villages in the area.

It was not really a problem for us as we were able to get Internet access but for some it may have been difficult as there was no WiFi set up.

Ask the owners for their recommendations for local restaurants. We had a lovely meal at the little village of Dudda, nearby. We also tried the owners wine which was good.

“A Tuscan Dream”

There is so much to love about Greve in Chianti 214 from the location to the facilities to the hosts to everything in between that it is difficult to narrow it down to a few positive aspects.

Would like to have Internet availability, but the lack thereof is not the fault of the owners.

Because this is a farmhouse, make sure to buy groceries before arriving. Figline has a fine grocery store. If eating out, there is a nice restaurant in Dudda, but not much to recommend in Figline. Take time to get to know Sylvia and Luka - great hosts and fine people.

Nothing at all if you like places that are genuine . May be the absence of internet connection is the only minus.

Nice walking be feet all the area surrounding the buildings -- Chianti is a marvelous area you don't want to leave -- villages 10/10 food 10/10 but you have to learn some Italian words in order to communicate with natives Italians.In 1 hour or so you drive to Florence -San Gimignano - Sienna - Perugia --but Chianti is the best.
