A few km away you can visit some of the most beautiful Tuscan cities: Florence about 1 hour, Siena about 35 minutes, Arezzo about 30 minutes, Cortona about 30 minutes, San Gimignano 1 hour. In the surroundings there are splendid medieval castles, monasteries, abbeys and ancient villas and for lovers of shopping, some famous outlets are easy to reach.

The natural spas

The San Filippo spa is a splendid combination of limestone formations, waterfalls and small hot water pools surrounded by the lush nature of the forest just outside the small town of Bagni San Filippo in Val dOrcia.

Bagno Vignoni is truly unique: in no other location in Italy will you find a swimming pool, located in the central square, full of hot thermal water: 49 meters long and 29 meters wide, this Renaissance-era square was built exactly above the original water source spa, the same one that the Romans also used.

Events and Folklore

The Palio is the most important event organized in the city of Siena and takes place every year on July 2nd and August 16th. In the Palio the various Sienese Contrade into which the city is divided compete in a passionate horse race in Piazza del Campo.

The medieval city of Montepulciano becomes the stage of the extraordinary Bravio delle Botti event. It is a competition between the 8 districts of the city that fight to win the coveted Bravio, a painted cloth depicting the portrait of the patron saint of the city.
