Surroundings

The Residence's excellent location allows guests to easily reach Cassibile and the coast of Fontane Bianche, either on foot or by bicycle, using the convenient links. The motorway, just a kilometer away, easily connects the cities of Siracusa, Noto, Avola, Marzamemi, Portopalo; The beautiful beaches of Gallina, Cala mosche and the oasis of Gelsomineto; The natural reserves of: Vendicari, Cavagrande, Pantalica and the protected area of Plemmirio. In particular, the residence is just 25 minutes from the splendid Wildlife Reserve and Oasis of Vendicari. The reserve extends for approximately 1512 hectares, of which 575 are a real reserve. The remaining 937 hectares are largely dedicated to agriculture (citrus groves, olive groves, vineyards) and to a lesser extent to facilities for tourism and sports. The Vendicari Reserve is located in a narrow coastal strip of water, which is of paramount importance to migratory bird species. The presence of vast flooded areas, with high salinity, has contributed to the creation of an ecosystem that is a landmark for birds that come from Africa (about 350 km away) and stand here before reaching the final migratory destinations throughout Europe. In fact, the reserve area is at a latitude lower than that of Tunis. The reserve is a coastal wetland of high biological value for the presence of different biotopes: rocky and sandy coast, Mediterranean scrub, sandy and fresh water, saline and cultivated areas.

“The location was chosen for its central position regarding the places of interest around (Siracusa, Noto, Mazarmemi...) but also for its look.Everything was up to the expectation. We had a young baby (10 months then) and the owner installed all the equipment (bed, baby bath tub...).The upper room with view on the sea is quiet and with a nice terrasse.We really appreciated our stay.”
