Excellent grounds for picnics or cool naps. We are in Northern Tuscany, on the hill sides between Lucca and Camaiore in a small antique village called Anticiana. A strategic position for those who wish to treat themselves to a cult holiday.
Lucca, a medieval jewel, is at 18 km., Viareggio with its unique Liberty Architecture sea-front promenade, at 23 km., Firenze can be reached in an hour and Pisa in 40 minutes. The Apuan Alps with their renound Carrara marble quarries is 50 minutes away and the Cinque Terre looking onto the Ligurian Sea front in an hour and a half. This is an ideal part of the world for magnificent excursions, even if only for the day.
On the other hand, if your intention is to put your mind to rest, then you will have found what you have been looking for. Silence will only be broken by the bird’s frenzy activities and the sunshine is more than generous from dawn to sunset.
Excellent grounds for picnics or cool naps.
From natures point of view, the many excursion paths with varying difficulty levels and lengths, for treking, biking or horse riding, will make you discover wild woods which open out to green fields with apple, pear, olive and chestnut cultivations, and to shaded pine tree woods.
On your excursions you may bump into foxes, squirrels edgehogs, wild boars and you may quench your thirst by drinking cold water from the numerous natural springs.
If you love the seaside, then Torre del Lago, Viareggio or the Lido of Camaiore will offer you all necessary comforts: fully equipped beaches or free ones, from the most luxurious to the more economical areas.
If instead one prefers Spas, you will have the choice of embarrassment: the world renound Montecatini, only 40 minutes away, is there for you with its great infrastructures and sophisticated areas, or alternatively the Lucca Baths, less renound but most definitely equally suggestive, near Garfagnana on the way to Barga, the adopted Scottish town in the middle of Tuscany.
The home which will proudly host you is an antique stone house of approx 90 s.m., named “La Camaiore 1631”, situated on a sunny hillside, allowing quick trips to Lucca, Pisa and the Versilia beaches and on clear days it is possible to view Corsica and the Islands of Tuscany.
La Camaiore 1631, rebuilt in complete respect and observing former and original building techniques, offers a ground floor with a self contained kitchen connected to a large dining and sitting area with a fire place and a cast iron heating stove. The above first floor has two rooms and a large bathroom with a cast iron bath tub. The whole house is surrounded by 3,000 s.m. of land and woods, wich can be used to sunbathe and for bar-b-q meals under olive trees. The house can host up to five people and small domestic pets will be welcomed.
