The locality lies in the Tuscan Apennines in a geographical preveleged position, where the torrent Lima meets the river Serchio. This area offers a wide range of attractions and is half an hour drive from Abetone, Viareggio and Versilia, only 25 km away from Lucca, one can benefit from a mountain and seaside climate.
It has been known since ancient times and had been visited by poets and writers, such as Byron, Shelley, Montale, Dumas, Heine, Lamartine and Ouida, the great Paganini and among the European nobility, Napoleon and his beautiful sister Paolina.

Bagni di Lucca has two thermal baths which are specialized in treatment of arthroreumatic, vascular, bronchial and gynacological diseases and skin affections.
The centres have been recently restored. Grotta Grande and Grotta Paolina, two jewels of nature with a thermal steam have a temperature between 40° and 47° C. It is an ideal place for relaxation and detoxifying, for skin care and for loosing weight. Grotta Paolina is unique, because in this natural cave can stay only four guests.

The thermal indoor pool welcomes the guests with flowing water at the temperature of 32°C.
