the farmhouse is an old country house just renovated, which from an hill-top position overlooks the Alta Val di Cecina and offers a wonderful panorama.
Looking west during sunny days, you can see the sea and the island of
Capraia, looking north you see Volterra clinging on a top of a hill. Our farm comprises 21 hectares of cultivated land mostly for olives and wheat.
Accommodation: the
four comfortable apartaments obtained inside the old structure where restructured according to the traditional architectural Tuscan style.
The external walls of the Podere are made of stones covered with mortar in accordance with the local style.
This particular characteristic, which increases the thickness of the walls, maintains freshness during summer and warmth during winter.
Services and activities: in the farmhouse you can have long walks in the woods, picnic in the meadows, relaxing on the edges of big
swimming-pool or the choice of one of the various trekking routes in the surroundings.
You can also buy fruit and vegetables directly from the farmers and visit the natural reserve of Monterufoli or hire a mountain-bike for a day.
Families of hares, porcupines, deer, wild boars , foxes and various species of birds as hawks, owls, etc... live in the surroundings and are often easly spotted.
Pomarance: is the nearest village to our farm, and can be easily reached on foot.
Pomarance is a typical country village where you can find restaurants and shops. Here you can also taste the typical products of the surroundings, delicious "pane sciocco" (the most famous is the Montegemoli one), olive oil and excellent wines.
