A Tuscan terracotta arch forms a bed head; the pale blue walls blend with the colour of the sky visible from the window overlooking the garden. In the language of flowers the meaning given to mallow (malva) is that of peace fullness.
It is used mainly to sooth mouth and stomach inflammation, for coughs and catarrh. The infusion added to water has emollient and moisturising properties. The lotion has beneficial effects on acne rosacea and reddened skin.
