Castle: Profile Poggibonsi 748
 
A donation made by count Ugo of Tuscany to Benedictine monks give us the first date (25 July 998) in the history of the Castle that, with its towers and its crenellated walls, majestically dominates the hill of Poggio Marturi in Poggibonsi.
Although nothing of the ancient manor remains after the rebuilding in 1886 (except for the cloister dated XI century), the “drawbridge”, walls and belvedere still have the atmosphere and charm of the Middle Ages. In the centre of Tuscany, a few km from Florence and Siena, near S.Gimignano and Colle Val d’Elsa, for relaxing holidays in contact with history it’s possible to stay at the Castle choosing between 2 flats, La Limonaia and La Loggia, made out of the ancient building. Our guests can enjoy a large garden and the swimming pool surrounded by olive trees, in the shadow of the tower.
Castle’s halls and park, moreover, are suitable to accommodate meetings, bridal and private parties.
