Farmhouse: The estate and products
| Vineyard |
The estate: the winery is situated in the north-west of the Chianti Classico territory, 5 km from the village of Castellina in Chianti. It was purchased by the Neri family in 1946.
During the corse of the years, the Neris have always strived to respect tradition in their wine-making, whilst keeping the winery abreast of the times with state-of-the-art machinery and the most up-to-date techniques.
The estate occupies an area of 138 hectares, comprising woods, olive groves and vineyards that surround the four main farmhouses.

The suitability of the area to the cultivation of grapes is also confirmed by medieval documents, celebrating the superior quality of the wine produced by the winery.
The olive groves, a typical element in the Chianti landscape, have also been the object of constant care.
More recent times have seen the restoration of the farmhouse, now employed as a guesthouse. The building and the surrounding garden have been renovated in full respect of the original architectural and landscape features typical of the area.
The products: wine is the main product at the estate: our Chianti Classico has been bottled with this name since 1954. The label has recently been updated, with the new look still sporting the three girls.
Production of the IGT ('Super Tuscan') wine started in 1996. Our wine is the result of an accurate selection of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes.
We also produce a smooth, velvety Grappa with the scent of the grapes it comes from.
The old olive trees, boosted by new plants, give out the purest extra virgin olive oil, with an intense fruity taste. |
