THE BARN’ APARTMENT
Around 30 years ago wheat, barley and animal fodder was dragged up the stone stairway and stored in sacks on the upper floor. This was incredibly hard work but necessary since at the time there was no other dry place to keep the grain which fed the family and the animals.

To enter the apartment you climb the original travertine marble stairs, now sanded and enhanced by a wrought-iron handrail. Certain areas of the wall have been left un-plastered revealing the old wall of large tufa stone blocks.
