In the heart of Etna Natural Park and only 30 minutes away from the wonderful beaches of Taormina, Villa Etna is the ideal place for a holiday in the country, without missing out on the wonderful Sicilian Sea.
With the volcano on one side and the coast on the other, the view you can enjoy from your home is really unique and unforgettable. Immersed in the tranquillity of the countryside, and away from any crowded beach, our guests can also enjoy the facilities at our seaside residence in Taormina with its private beach which is only 30 km from the villa.
The early Nineteenth Century house was originally a ‘palmento’ where grapes were pressed. The stately wooden winepress in the hall bears witness to the fascinating history of the place and area, still renowned for its wines today. The large hall on the ground floor welcomes you to the Villa Etna. The stone fireplace and the dining room under the vaults where the wine must was kept create a warm and comfortable environment. Still on the ground floor there is a large and fully equipped kitchen, and a bathroom.
Going up stairs, the studio on the first floor the old floor in volcanic stone is preserved intact, and is ideal for a relaxing moment dedicated to reading or watching a DVD movie. From the cherry wood landing the rooms are accessed: two double rooms with sea views and views over the vineyards, another room facing the Volcano, and a bathroom. Continuing on the first floor you can sit on the covered balcony, furnished with a table, chairs and a hammock where you can relax, admire the garden and the sea or just enjoy the fresh nights observing the stars.
The garden that surrounds the villa is a triumph of flowers: antique roses, hydrangeas, camellias, magnolias, pines, vineyards, fragrances and colours that will embrace you under the two hundred-year-old chestnut trees. From the garden you can enjoy a breath taking sight on the sea and the volcano.
The Villa also has a kitchen garden, rich in seasonal vegetables available for our guests. Further afeild you will find our chestnut forest, an ideal place for a picnic.
Near the villa there was once the horse manger has been converted into a covered area for barbecues.
Our house is the ideal place from which to visit the Etna Park and to make excursions to the Volcano, without forgetting that in only 30 minutes you can reach our private beach, provided with parking; Taormina; the Greek Theatre in Syracuse; The Temple Valley of Agrigento, and the baroque centres of Noto and Ragusa are only some of the fascinating places you can discover during your stay at Villa Etna.
