Villa: Laveno 2377
Description
Position: in Sarigo, a little town protected by UNESCO, the villa offers to her quests a pleasant and relaxing stay.
Thanks to her family tradition, the villa is dedicated to family and group vacation, cultural and recreational activities.
The structure is situated in the township of Sarigo, whose residents began occupying this idylic hillside land in the first half of the 12th century.
The Church of Saint George offers a perfect example of the Romanesque-Lombardic architecture that dominated the region and its original apse, with its decorations, and the solid bell tower still stand today. Property: the oldest structures of Laveno 2377 was constructed in the first half of the 1700s while the main house that you see here dates from 1915.
Two brothers dedicated many a weekend, after returning home from their weekly jobs in Switzerland, to painstakingly build this four-story villa during the next twelve years.
The posts on the railing of the balconies were all hand-made by them, at the rate of one per week.
The previous owner, who was born in the house in 1927, and is now 80 years old, still lives nearby. About a hundred feet (10 meters) away, you'll find a small, stone and terracotta gazebo that houses two large stone basins where residents used to wash their laundry.
Since Sarigo is the highest-located township in the region of Castelveccana, amazing vistas of Lake Maggiore, the Alps, nearby towns and the surrounding mountains can be had from the windows of the villa.
