Rooms in Villa: Laveno 2346
Description
Location: the period house is situated in a small village, lost in the history of bygone days, still offering the same warm hospitality and refined elegance, amidst the scent of its roses.
Accommodation: the villa has four bedrooms, two twin bedrooms and two double bedrooms; a living room with satellite TV; an equipped kitchen, which may also be used for cooking and a laundry room.
Breakfast: one may dine in the living room, in front of the fireplace, or in the courtyard, surrounded with roses and jasmine.
Surrounding Area: this stretches to 65km; Lake Maggiore marks the border between Lombardy (the eastern bank) and Piedmont (the western bank); from here onwards, it becomes the dominant feature in the landscape.
On its shores, the woodland species of the copse that once covered the hills, have given way to more tame vegetation.
The view of the lake stretching north towards the Swiss Alps, is continually interrupted by headlands and gulfs, inlets and coves; a series of curves and bends forming the lakeside, which is tree-lined with lime and plane trees; centuries-old towns; guard towers; fortresses and above all, grand patrician villas, which were the preferred holiday resorts of the Italian and European aristocracy, starting from the eighteenth century until the first part of the twentieth century.
