  Setting was beautiful. Chamber maid was very friendly and helpful

  Receptionist told us on arrival that we really needed a car, but I had emailed her we were travelling by train. She made arrangements to have us picked up in Siena, but we had to catch an 8 am bus back upon departure. Owner didn't seem to want anyone at hotel

  Dinner at the grotto del rana was a highlight each day

  “Stunning hill top village. Super old buildings with friendly staff, excellent swimming pool and superb views over the vineyards and the rolling Tuscan countryside. Accommodation is typical of Italy, rustic good quality and charming.”

  Location and beauty of age of the local buildings. A delight little hill top hamlet

  Food was average.

  I would recommend for romantic couples and family. Could do with a better chef. Part of the experience of Italy is the classic homemade foods. I would rate the food 4 out of 10.
