The 350 hectare farm overlooks the charming Nese valley and is surrounded by great chestnut trees, marvellous ancient oaks, olive trees and ponds which render the farm an oasis of peace and tranquillity.
Originally a fortress in the 13th century, the farm was completely destroyed by fire during a siege in the second half of the 14th century.
During the 15th century it was rebuilt as was the nearby village. The recent reconstruction has retained the original architectural features and has restored the farm to its ancient splendour. Today the Tenuta di San Donato is divided into seven wonderful and beautifully furnished apartments.
