HINTS ABOUT THE FIRM : at the beginning of twentieth century the firm belonged to Mr. Caleca whose heir was his son, father of the present proprietress.

HANDCRAFT AND INDUSTRIES: in the past century in Patti Marina existed little factories to manifacture clay.
The products wee exported by ships to african countries. To day we can find in Patti Marina some ceramic factories among which the one of Caleca that exports all over the world.

ASPECTS OF NATURE: on the hill you can find a rich vegetation: chestnut woods, pines, olives trees. You can find also wild animals such as hares, rabbits, quails, migratory birds.

WHAT YOU CAN SEE IN THE DISTRICT: at a few miles from Patti, you can visit an ancient Greek colony famous for the sanctuary of the black Madonna, its Greek theatre where in summer they perform interesting plays. At the foot of the sanctuary lie the lakes of Marinello.
