In the heart of Tuscany’s Maremma where the marvellous natural environment still preserves traces of Etruscan and Roman civilizations, the “Agriturismo Paganico 57
” is an extensive and characteristic farm.
Situated nearby the medieval village Paganico, founded by Siena as a defense against the Saracen army, during the middle ages the Tenuta was feud of the powerful Aldobrandeschi family. Until the beginning of the twentieth century it was part of the Patrizi Marquisate and then purchased by the family in 1922. Today in addition to agricultural crops (corn, wheat, sunflower, cereals, fodder plants and olives), wild cattle and horses are bred.
One of the farm houses has been restored in order to host our guests; still maintaining the traditional traits of Tuscan architecture it offers all modern comforts. Our attempt is to preserve the rural environment at its best, believing it to be an inestimable heritage for us all.
To those who prefer to relax, the Tenuta offers an extraordinary natural environment for walks along the fishy Ombrone river or into the 1000 hectares of Mediterrenean woods which surround cultivated fields. The splendid countryside is also treasure of hunting traditions which with respect have conserved the numerous wild species: pheasants, hares, boars, fallow- deer, roe- bucks, hedgehogs and ducks.

The farm is 25 km from Grosseto, 45 km from Siena and 100 km from Florence, easy to reach by car, bus or train. It’s strategic position makes it an ideal starting point for excursions to the many sites rich of history and art. In less than a half hour drive is the Monte Amiata, with its winter ski resorts and woods of firs, chestnuts and beeches; Roselle and Vetulonia, Etruscan and Roman archeological sites; Montalcino and its vintage “Brunello” red wine; the unique flora and fauna of the Maremma Natural Park; the splendid Costa d’Argento with Punta Ala, Monte Argentario and the Tuscan Arcipelago.
Interiors
We have the opportunity to welcome our guests in the main villa called Fattoria, surrounded by its park with secular trees and still today heart of the farm’s activities. Accommodation is provided in a large apartment composed by: the “Salone dei Cacciatori” and its majestic fireplace, a modern kitchen with oven and dishwasher, five bedrooms with private bathrooms and heating. Only a short walk away from the picturesque village of Paganico our guests have the opportunity to be truly immersed both into local life and absolute tranquility of rural Tuscany.We also welcome guests in the Agriturismo Paganico 57: in the past it was a center for the growth of agricultural crops and cattle breeding. Today it has been restored into five apartments of
various dimensions, hosting from two to eight people. It is surrounded by a spacious
garden with a swimming pool, play areas and barbecues for pleasant evenings outside.
