The Villa was built in 1812 by a noble family from Montepulciano. The period in which it was built (the Napoleonic period) is reflected in many of the architectural and decorative aspects of the villa, both in the main building and family chapel and in the surrounding garden and park. The villa is situated on top of one of the highest hills in the area and has magnificent 360° views of all the surrounding areas.

Some of the most beautiful and historic villages and towns in the Siena area and southern Tuscany are easily accessible, including Montepulciano, Pienza, Sarteano, Cetona, Cortona, Bagni Vignoni, S. Quirico d'Orcia, Radicofani, Monticchiello and many others. The surrounding area is also one of the most interesting from a nature viewpoint, due to the presence of nature reserves, such as those at Lago di Montepulciano, Lago di Chiusi and Lago di Trasimeno, forests and woods rich in local fauna and wildlife, vineyards, olive groves and typical Tuscan landscapes.

The area is also renowned for numerous hot springs and health centres catering for all requirements. Concerts of classical music and cultural events are also organised every summer in Montepulciano, Pienza and other nearby towns and villages.
The villa is surrounded by a beautiful Italian-style garden with box-tree and laurel hedges and tall trees. The back garden leads to a hedge situated between two fruit orchards and lemon trees which leads to the long, panoramic pathway flanked by cypresses and acacias and ending in a natural balcony with views over all of the family-owned land.
