A big disappointment.
Fast internet connection. Lovely house internally, very clean other than the stove which didn't work along with the heating on our first night. Once we cleaned the stove it was functional. Roberto, the owner's son was very helpful when we finally met him.
Broken and decayed outdoor furniture. Proximity to wine factory. Unpleasant aroma of ploughed and fertilised fields. Unkempt gardens and surrounds which are obviously used by the local workers. "The Dependence" and it's tenants seem rather less important to the owners than the main buildings. Unfortunately, for 2 people it's the only choice.
We are so sorry that you did not completely enjoy you stay with us. This is the first time that we have had any non positive feedback and we would like to address each of the points that you have raised: The stove now works - there was a small issue with the ignition of the stove and the heating which was easily remidied the moment you made us aware of it (on the first night). We have inspected all of the outdoor furniture and cannot find any fault and we do look after the gardens very well, mowing once a week. The location of the accommodation near to our winery is clearly stated on all of our publicity and all of our guests so far have found this to be an extremely positive part of the holiday as we do free winery tours and wine tastings for our guests experiencing the real Italy. It is true that the accommodation is in the countryside as advertised and farmers will very occasionally (usually about once a year) fertilise the land as you are staying in an agricultural area and if there is a mild countryside aroma this is only for a day or so. Unfortunately we cannot do anything about opening times in Italy - shops are shut in most of Italy on a Sunday but we can do some shopping ahead of arrival if requested and restuaruants in the closest village a short distance away ARE open on a Sunday. The photos that we use for advertising were taken in the Spring and are untouched. Your stay was at the end of October after all the harvests were finished so the countryside would look quite different with Autumn colours. As we say, this is the first time that we have had any negative feedback from guests and have only had very positive feedback with many of our guests (who we treat as friends) returning to the property time and time again.

The true "la dolce vita"
The owners (Narciso and Liliana) and their son (Roberto) were incredibly friendly and welcomed us with that typical Italian hospitality. They were always around to help and really took care of their guests. The scenery was amazing when we were there, during the harvest season (mid-September). We absolutely loved the wine tasting, and couldn't resist taking some with us home. The pool was heavenly. Another great asset to this place is the bio vegetable garden next to it. We made the most delicious dishes with the pomodori and the home made olive oil, which you should definitely try as well.
You really need a car in this area. Public transport is not really an option and you should definitely go and visit Montalto and its neighbouring villages. We didn't have a car but thankfully Roberto (the owner's son) was kind enough to help us out and take us places.

very friendly welcome awaited us. there was a mix up with our accomodation but what we got was right up to standard if a little large for just the two of us.
our house was right beside the winery run by the family. we were apprehensive at first, thought it may be a bit noisy but we had such fun watching the process that we never noticed. some free samples were offered too.
only gripe was the lack of ironing facilities. when you are travelling awhile its nice to wash and iron your clothes. a small oversight that could be easily sorted by the owners.

Ihastuttavat omistajat.
Hyvä asunto, mukava, avulias, ystävällinen isäntäpari. Osaisinpa paremmin italiaa, niin kirjoittaisin Lilianille usein.
