This is THE place to stay in Tuscany if you want to be in the countryside and not the city. It is a small, family-run vineyard, currently managed by the third generation, who recently (within the last few years) added excellent accommodation facilities to the farmhouse. The winery produces a small yield, but the wines are top-quality, and everything is done on-site. The wines are organic, and made with love, with the family doing everything from picking the grapes to labelling the bottles themselves. They also make their own Florentine salami, cured ham, and other products. Elena was our generous and friendly host, who speaks great English and prepared a wonderful, laregly homemade breakfast each morning which is included in the cost. She can conduct a tour of the cellar and wine-tasting upon request, both of which I strongly recommend. The farmhouse is a short walk into Greve, a lovely little village that has everything you need including some great smallgoods shops, a supermarket, and restaurants. Hire a car and take some day trips to Siena and Florence, both within a 30 - 45 minute drive. Use a GPS! This place was a dream come true, and I can't wait to go again. Next time I'll plan to go in harvest season to help out with the grape picking!
