Elba, the beautiful Napoleon's island, lies in Tuscany, 10 km from the coast. You just need one hour of navigation to reach it with Toremar and Moby ferry-boats: they frequently connect Piombino's port to Portoferraio. The island is very big and varied: in the south you can see sunny beaches, while in the northern part you find wooded slopes, with chestnut-trees and holm-oaks. Villa Elba is about 40 minutes from Portoferraio's port, at 350 m altitude, and 5 km from Marciana Marina's sea. It stands in a chestnuts, pines and holm-oaks wood. The view from the house is very charming: on the one hand you can see the old Poggio village and Mount Capanne (1019 meters), on the other hand the sea, with Marciana Marina, the bay of Fenicia and the headland of Enfola, while in the distance you see Leghorn coast. Villa Elba is an apartment that has a lounge with panoramic view, spacious terrace with sea view, kitchen with dishwasher, 2 bedrooms and bathroom with bath-tub; a double bedroom, and a room with two single beds. A washing-machine is on the outside for both flats. Poggio zone, where Villa Elba is situated, is ideal for wonderful hikes, even through CAI (Italian Alpine Club) paths. In Poggio, only 5 minutes on foot from the villa, you can find excellent restaurants, bars and food stores. 2 km away there is the cableway to Mount Capanne, from where you can enjoy a wonderful view of the whole island of Elba and Tuscan archipelago.
