Our holiday flats have been prepared in the smallest details to offer you a homelike, warm and elegant atmosphere. Most of the floors are made in old terracotta tiles; the two flats that open out onto the swimming pool, where the old winter garden was, have floors of hand-painted tiles.
The glass cabinets, cupboards, chests of drawers and wardrobes are all handmade, painted and decorated by skilled craftsmen. Each apartment features different colours and is furnished with decor and furniture with different lines, making each flat unique.
The old farm hayloft has been converted into two apartments with high ceilings leaving space for delightful inside balconies, where ancient beams support writing desks and wrought-iron beds. Three of the flats have ample terraces; others open out onto the garden and onto the "Piazzetta", and still others onto the open gallery and the small, covered, Tuscan farmhouse "terrazzo".
The ancient "altana", a loggia-type room on top of the roof, has been made into a small apartment; it is perhaps the most romantic of all, decorated in light blue hues, with a stately, antique, Spanish-style bed. The beds are all in wrought iron or in wood, the latter are antiques, some restored from the old furnishings of the original farmhouse.
Our Tuscan agritourist facility, "La Certaldo 1847", was entirely restructured in 2005; it is surrounded by uncontaminated nature: vineyards, olive groves and woods. The property stretches over an area of some 200 hectares of stunning Tuscan countryside. It is conveniently centred: only 50 kilometres from Florence, 40 km from Siena and about 60 from Pisa.
It is also very near other very famous tourist destinations, like San Gimignano and the wine-producing area of the Chianti Classico. So, it offers its guests the chance to combine a relaxing holiday with visits and tours of great historical and artistic interest.
