Cecina town and its neighbourhoods
The Cecina’s town is placed in the last north west of a wide Tuscany area called Maremma
and faces beach for about 8 km.
The weather is particularly mild all the year long because of its sunny position protected by the hills at its back.
Cecina Marina is one of the most important and preferred tourist areas in Tuscany for its clean see water and its central position.
Cecina is placed in a beautiful costal plain and is unique for its endless beach, its wild pine forest and its sweet hills covered of olive trees and vine yards.
The number of inhabitants that live in town all the year is 25.000 and is constantly increasing for its many activities like tourism, trading and productive.
It’s of particular interest: the Roman Villa
of S. Vincenzino that tradition ascribe to the powerful family of Cecina (probably of Etrurian origin) one of the most noble in the ancient Rome, the Cinquantina museum and the Etrurian cupola of Casaglia.
In the neighbourhood you can visit the village of Castagneto Carducci
with its castle of Gherardesca’s Counts, the fort of Bibbona placed few meters from the beach, the village of Bolgheri
with its unique double row of cypresses that ends in front of the oratory of S. Guido.
The beach of Cecina Marina is sandy mixed with small stones with a sea particularly clean and bleu, here you can choose ether to rent a place with desk chairs and umbrella, in one of the many bathing facilities, or to enjoy of a very long free beach.
In front of the coast there is the Tuscan archipelagos with the islands of Elba
, Capraia, Gorgona and the promontory of Piombino in the south.
During very clean days you can also see the profile of Corsica island.
